You do not need a new structure every week. You need one good structure you can trust, filled with fresh study. Here it is.
The template
- Text and context: passage reference, one line on what surrounds it.
- Big idea: one sentence, under fifteen words.
- Hook: the human tension you open with, ninety seconds, memorized.
- Movement one: what the text says. Support, one illustration, one application.
- Movement two: what it means. Support, one illustration, one application.
- Movement three: what it asks. Support, one illustration, one application.
- Restatement: big idea, word for word.
- The ask: one specific action, stated twice.
- Close: prayer or invitation, sixty seconds.
How to fill it fast
- Write the big idea before anything else. Everything hangs off it.
- Write the ask second. Knowing where you are going makes the middle obvious.
- Fill illustrations last so they serve the point instead of steering it.
- Mark timing in the margin: 3, 8, 8, 8, 3.
